Athens - Robert Don Forester passed away to his heavenly home on July 26, 2026, in Tyler Texas with his loving family by his side. He was born on May 21, 1940, to John Robert Forester and Zella Cobb Forester in New York, Texas.

Don was a man whose life was defined by his faith, his love for the land, and his commitment to his community. He grew up in the New York area, and it was very special to him. He was a member of New York Baptist Church, he lived his life with quiet strength, humility, and a servant's heart. Whether in his church, his family, or his community, Don was someone others could depend on.

As a lifelong rancher and cattleman, Don had a deep appreciation for agriculture and the simple joys of country life. He worked hard, took pride in what he did, and earned the respect of all who knew him. His dedication led him to serve as president of the Federal Land Bank, where his wisdom and leadership benefited countless people throughout Henderson, Anderson, and Rains Counties. In recognition of his lifelong commitment to agriculture, he was honored as Agriculture Man of the Year.

While Don was grateful for the accomplishments he achieved, the things that mattered most to him could never be measured by awards or titles. His faith, his family, and the friendships he built over a lifetime were his greatest treasures. He will be remembered for his kind spirit, steady character, warm smile, and the genuine way he cared for those around him. His legacy of faith, hard work, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love him.
