Services for Ollie Cooper age 91 of Palestine will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Rev. Rick Dees officiating. Burial will follow in Carroll Springs Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cooper passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Trucare Living Center. She was born January 8, 1928 in Henderson County to Martin Staines and Edna Cummings Staines. Mrs. Cooper worked as a bookkeeper in her professional life, and was a loving homemaker to her family. She was a dedicated member of the Westwood Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 64 years, W.A. Cooper, sisters, Velma Coleman, Betty Byrum, Marie Pierce, Shirley Welch and Laverne Roy, brothers, Sherman Staines and Martin Staines, Jr. She is survived by her sons, Bill Cooper and wife Paula, Gary Cooper and wife Lynne, daughters, Sharon Scarbrough and husband Dan, Carla Skaggs and husband Gary, Cathy Newsome and husband Jimmy, sister Linda Ammons, thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and her great grandsons and granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cooper's family would like to extend a special thank you to TruCare Living Center and Heart to Heart Hospice for all of the loving care that was shown to her.
