Nancy Jean Ramirez, 58, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021, at her home in Athens, Texas. She was born on March 2, 1962, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Bobby Ray Sims and Maxine Marie Peevey. She was the second to the oldest of four children.

She married the love of her life, Miguel Melendez Ramirez, on August 3, 1985. They cherished each other for thirty-six years. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family and helping others in the community. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Nancy was loved by many in her community, and she will never be forgotten.

Nancy leaves to cherish her loving memory her children Jenny Engle and Miguel Ramirez; six grandchildren Ramon Ramirez III, Antonio Ramirez, Matthew Cobb, Angel Ramirez, Franky Ramirez, and Joleah Martin; and two great-grandchildren Braylon and Raider Ramirez; brother Jimmy Sims; and sister Janet Stahl.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother Bobby Don Sims.

A Memorial Service was held Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Moorhead Funeral Home in Gun Barrel City, Texas. Chaplain (CPT) Fritz Hager, Texas State Guard, officiated for the Ramirez family.
