Kreta N. Trammell, 80, of Boyd, went to be with our Lord Monday March 24, 2025, peacefully at home.

Celebration of Life is 6-8 PM Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

Kreta was born on July 8, 1944, in Andrews, Texas to Otis and Ruth (Stetler) Greenlee. She married Bob Trammell on August 31, 1962, in Athens, Texas. Kreta graduated from Athens High School in 1962, where she was active in the band for 4 years and a shield bearer, then attended UNT and TCU, receiving degrees from both, she worked for multiple schools, Bellaire (6th) elementary, HEB ISD and as the Associate Professional Director of Reading Department for TCC-NE campus. She moved to Boyd in 1984, then retired in 2004 to spend time with her family and enjoy her passion of travel, the great outdoors, nature; there was never a tree she didn't like, and the beautiful Texas Coast. Kreta was active in her church at First United Methodist of Boyd as well as The American Cancer Society, a loving wife and mother and will be missed dearly by those who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Ruth Greenlee.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 62 years, Bob Trammell of Boyd; her sons, Luther Amos (Luke) Trammell of Boyd and Mathew Alan (Matt) Trammell and wife Cindy of Keller; extended family and a host of friends.


The family would like to thank the Alpha Omega Hospice Team for the extraordinary care given to Kreta.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to the First United Methodist Church of Boyd or The American Cancer Society.
