Joan Carol Wansley
Joan Carol Wansley, 75, went to her Heavenly Home on Monday August 5, 2019, in Athens, Tx. with her beloved Family by her side. Her strong will to live, her faith in God and the love and prayer's of Family and Friends carried her through these last 10 months, since being diagnosed with liver disease.
Joan was born on June 28, 1944 in Clarendon, Tx. to Nannie Waldrop. On July 8, 1966, she married James (Jim) D. Wansley. They eventually made their home in Palmer, Tx. Later, they settled in Athens, Tx. and built another Family farm. Her significant gift and love for horses led her to become a riding instructor for over 10 years. She enjoyed teaching young children, going camping and doing trail rides.
Joan is survived by, Daughter Rachelle Wansley, Son Jim Wansley and Wife Shelley, Son Chris Wansley, Son Wayne Wansley and Wife Molly. Grandchildren Ryan Skroh, Tiffany Stoops, Alisha Conditt and Husband Robbie, Joseph Wansley and Fiance Sabrina Hardy, Heather Raney, Hannah Raney and Wife Alicia and Raven Wansley. Great Grandchildren Tristan and Kimberly Conditt. She also had 3 of her closest friends, Sharon Butler, Cindy Mudge and Bonnie Tessel.
Joan is proceeded in death by her Husband James (Jim) D. Wansley, Daughter Natalie Stoops and Granddaughter Felicia Jannise.
Joan's Celebration of Life will be Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 2pm in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Athens, Tx.
The Family would like to extend their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of Care, Love, Prayer's and Support she received, including, but not limited to Hospice Plus of Athens, Tx., New Century Hospice of Corsicana, Tx. and to her life long Dr. Melissa Perrin of Ferris, Tx.
