Jimmie Dale "Mimi" Moss Trezise

Jimmie Dale "Mimi" Moss Trezise, 87, of Palestine, Texas, peacefully passed away February 10, 2023, surrounded by her family's heartfelt singing.

Born in Yell County, Arkansas to Jim & Ada Rebecca Moss on May 22, 1935, the family moved to Texas and settled close to Waco where Jimmie Dale and her younger brother Louis were sent to live at the Methodist Children's Home when she was 10 years old. After graduating high school from there, she received a scholarship to Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, Texas. She obtained an Associate of Arts degree in 1955, and in that same year, she went on a blind date with a young George Leo Trezise. They were married on December 25 of that same year.

Together over 68 years, Jimmie Dale & George Trezise have created a large, musical and God-loving family. After they settled in Palestine, she served as a longtime music director and Sunday school teacher at Lone Pine Baptist Church. She taught all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren her love of music. Many of those have gone on to be musical & ministry leaders in their churches. She has given a lifetime of devotion to God, her family, and music.

Jimmie Dale is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years, George L. Trezise, brother Louis Bittle of Bellmeade, TX, daughters, Karen L. Russell (husband Gene) of Palestine, TX, Lisa G. Weston (husband Jimmy) of Tulsa, OK, sons Mark A Trezise (wife Kristie) of Jacksonville, TX, and George A. "Drew" Trezise (wife Laura) of Cedar Park, TX, 14 grandchildren and their spouses, 17 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jimmie Dale was preceded in death by her parents Jim & Ada Rebecca "Janie" Moss, sisters Georgia Violet Karnes and Virginia "Virgie" Karnes, brothers Lavell & Laudell Moss, and a grandson, Samuel Trezise.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16th, from 6-8pm at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home in Palestine, Texas. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 17th at 10am in the Bailey & Foster Chapel. There will be no graveside service, as a private memorial will be held at a later date. We are asking everyone to wear blue as a tribute to Jimmie Dale.

The family would especially like to thank the four exceptional ladies who have taken care of our Mimi for the past weeks, months, and in some cases, years. Deena Ricard, Anneita Piediscalzi, Donna Chandler, and Melissa VanCleave, you are, and forever will be, a part of the Trezise Family and we love you.
