Jessie "Granddad" Lowry

Funeral services for Jessie "Granddad" Lowry 72, of Eustace have been scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Thursday September 12, 2019 at Autry's Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Shepard and Bro. Andre Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Hill Cemetery.
Jessie passed away Thursday evening September 5, 2019 in Eustace.
He was born December 4, 1946 in Mineola, Texas to the late Hubert Arthur and Amy Lou Lilly Lowry. Jessie was a strong and hardworking man. Who loved his family, especially his grandkids. Big Jessie and & Cherry Sue have left a legacy of strong Christian values for our family to carry on. He served our country proudly in the United States Army as a combat engineer demolition expert during the Vietnam War. He was an avid Texas Ranger fan. He loved to drink coffee on the porch & watching the birds with Nana. He also loved hunting, gardening, canning and making jelly to share with family and friends.
Jessie was preceded in death by his parents, wife Cherry Sue Lowry and brother Hubert Lowry.
Survivors include daughters; Mechelle Seilheimer and husband Allan of Malakoff, Stephanie Kirkhart and husband Jimmy of Eustace, Sarah Lowry of Eustace, son, Jessie Lowry and wife Jill of West, grandchildren, Gavin Kirkhart and fiancée Lauren Knight, Gannon Kirkhart, Kade Graham, Kole Graham, Ty Lowry, Kendall Lowry, Tate Lowry, Rody Seilheimer, Raleigh Seilheimer, Addison Shipley and Zachary Phillips, brothers, David Lowry and wife Jean of Eustace, Dan Lowry and wife Christi of Eustace, sisters, Allie Bridger Womble and husband Don of Eustace, Grace Cook and husband Haskell of Eustace and numerous nieces and nephews.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
