Jerry Gerald Williams passed away on August 6, 2019 in Dallas, Texas. He was born on May 17, 1944 in Dallas, Texas to Herschel Tilman Williams and Ruthie Elizabeth Bare Williams.
Preceded in death by his parents; his nephew, Terry Joe Norris; his brother-in-law, Joe Norris.
Jerry was a very special man. He served for many years as a Methodist minister bi-vocationally. He loved the Lord and the church. He served his country in the US Army in the Vietnam War. Through the years he worked for Curtis Mathis, and for the prison system for 30 years. Jerry shared the gospel wherever he went and was a faithful servant for Christ sharing Him with his fellow co-workers and even in the prison system when he had the opportunity. He enjoyed God's creation by watching deer, and feeding the squirrels. Jerry never had any children of his own, but he loved and cared for his nieces and nephews as his own. They loved him dearly along with the rest of his family that will miss him greatly.
Survivors include, his siblings, Neal Williams and wife Lucille of Darby, MT, Louise Williams Norris of Forney, TX, John Hyder and his wife June, Bill Hyder and wife Melanie; his nephews, Gerry Norris and wife Ramona, and Blake Hyder; his nieces, Stacy Williams, Kim Williams, Elizabeth Bragg and husband Jeremy, Frances Hesseltine and husband Jeremy, and Bobbie Lynn Cooper; along with numerous great nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Hyder, Gerry Norris, John Hyder, Jeremy Hesseltine, Blake Hyder and Eddie Pirtle.
Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, August 8, 2019 at Autry's Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 PM in the evening. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Autry's Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park.

Jerry was rhe first person I knew returning from Nam. He was a faithful friend from HCJC. God touched each of us in our close knit Bible study and training. A job well done Jerry Williams. Praying for your family
