Athens - Jan Larkin Carrico passed away to her heavenly home on June 2, 2025, in Quitman, Texas with her family by her side. She was born on October 23, 1941, to Henry McDuff Larkin and Pat Cox Larkin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Alvis Carrico.
Jan was an extraordinarily independent Texas woman. She grew up in the country in Athens, Texas and was a tomboy! She graduated from Athens High School in 1960 and then attended HCJC. She was a land surveyor by trade. She loved to ride motorcycles, ride horses and took care of Bassett hounds. At one time she competed in Competitive Rifle Marksmanship. Jan enjoyed everything outdoors. She loved music and in her later years began to play several different guitars. She loved the Lord and served him for many years at Calvary Baptist Church in Rosenberg, Texas. Everyone that knew her will miss her loving and generous spirit.
Left to cherish her memory is her twin sister, Nanette Gordon; brother, Patrick Henry Larkin Sr.; Nieces, Allison Gordon and Suzanne Bertin; nephews, Patrick Henry Larkin Jr.; and John Judy; also, several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a visitation held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Autry's Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, the funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM in the Autry's Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home chapel. Burial to follow at Payne Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or your favorite animal shelter.
