Memorial services for Helen Harris 80, of Athens have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Monday November 18, 2019 at Central Baptist Church in Athens with Bro. Charles Parker and Steve Harris officiating.
Helen was born July 9, 1939 in Weatherford, Texas to the late Olie and Maurine Hargett. She was a member of the Wilmer Hutchins graduating class of 1957. She was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church. Helen loved the Lord. She was a great Christian women, wife and mother. She loved her husband and family tremendously and was a very selfless woman. She was a great cook and loved to work outside and could grow just about anything, she especially liked to grow pretty flowers. She always knew how to make everyone feel special and welcome. Helen was a great help to her husband when he was pastoring in Childress, Texas and doing Mission work with the Blackfeet Indians in Montana. She never complained, always had a smile on her face and would literally do whatever she could to help everyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Olie and Maurine Hargett, daughter; Cindy Daves, brothers; Billy Hargett, Jimmy Ray Hargett and Terry Hargett.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years Pat Harris of Athens, sons; Steve Harris and wife Susie of Athens, Jeff Harris, daughter; Karen Soderiquist and husband Ray of Athens, grandchildren; Jennifer Nelson and Cassie, Josh Harris and wife Holly, Staci Hansen and husband Teddy, Dillon Harris, Cody Harris, Shane Harris and wife Michelle, Marlie Bird, great grandchildren; Keanu Cruz, Trevor, Ty Jones, Jaxson and Charli Beth Harris, TJ and Stevi Harris, numerous nieces and nephews and cousins and a host of friends.
