Samuel Ezzell Hopkins Jr. "S.E." age 82, passed away on January 31, 2017 in Tyler.  He was born on August 26, 1934 to Samuel E. Hopkins Sr. and Rachel Alexander Hopkins. 
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Tom Hopkins. 
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Yvonne Hopkins; his daughters, Paula Mallet and husband Danny, Lana Herriman and husband Kevin, Lisa King and husband William "Scooter".  3 grandchildren, Will Mallett, Hailey Mallett, and Brian Herriman; along with several nieces and nephews. 
"S. E." was a one of a kind man.  He continually put his family and friends before himself and would give to his neighbors in need.  He was the kind of man that would give the shirt off of his back if you needed it.  He was very loving and dedicated to his family. While growing up he attended Cross Roads Baptist Church, and later was saved and baptized and became a member of Judson Baptist Church.  "S.E." was a rancher and loved working with his cows, and was a member of the Henderson County Beef Cattle Committee. He served on the Cayuga School Board for 12 years.  He served in the Korean War and represented his country with dignity and honor. This GIANT of a man will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home on Friday February 3, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 PM.  Funeral services will be Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Cross Roads Baptist Church, with Bro. Frank Upchurch officiating.  Burial to follow at Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Cross Roads Baptist Church or Judson Baptist Church.
