Morris Eldon Ward, age 86, formally of Athens, passed away on February 15, 2017 in Farmersville, Texas. He was born on April 17, 1930 to General Watson Ward and Ruth Herrell Ward. He was a resident of Garland for many years and had a 30 plus year career with Texas Instruments. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Crossroads.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jenny Ward, and one son Terry Ward.
Survivors include his sons, Kenneth Watson Ward of McKinney, Morris "Dwayne" Ward and wife Sharon of McKinney, grandchildren, Christopher Ward, of Lubbock, Rachel Newman, and husband Joshua, great grandchildren, Caroline Newman, and Lucas Newman, all of McKinney.
Pallbearers will be Chris Ward, Michael Ward, Eddie Lehr, Troy Calhoun, Doc Holliday, and Darrell Kucherachy. Honorary pallbearers will be David Yarbourough, Bill Newbill, Glenn Phillips and Brad Phillips.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Crossroads, 14232 FM 59 Athens, Texas 75751 or Becks Chapel Cemetery Association, 11953 CR 1113 Athens, Texas 75751.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Crossroads, with Bro. Frank Upchurch officiating. Burial to follow at Becks Chapel.
