Martha Faye Warren ("Butch") Taylor, 74, peacefully passed away on May 11, 2017 at East Texas Medical Center in Athens. She was born on April 2, 1943 in Athens, Texas to A.D. Warren and Faye (Troublefield) Warren.
Martha graduated from Athens High School in 1961, earned her degree from Henderson County Junior College, and later retired from the Texas Department of Corrections at Tennessee Colony.
Martha is survived by: her sons, Cameron (Marveena Lovelady) Taylor and Dylan Taylor of Athens, and Brandon (Cara) Taylor of Whitehouse, Texas; and her grandchildren, MaCayla Taylor, Madison Taylor, and Reagan Taylor. She was previously married to Jerry G. Taylor of Palestine.
She enjoyed family, including her Weimaraner Sadie, watching the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Aggies, and spending time with her aunt, Nell "Biddie" Trent, before her passing.
A remembrance service and lunch will be held June 11, 2017 at the Hart-Morris Conservation Center, Room A, on County Road 4812 in Athens from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
