A funeral service for James Hood, 71, of Conroe, is scheduled at 10 o'clock in the morning Thursday February 16, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Frankston. Rev. Scott Wiley and C.J. O'Neal will officiate. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home.
Mr. Hood passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 in Conroe.
James was born April 21, 1945 in Denison to Lloyd and Hazel Hood.
He worked as a mechanic for Hunt Oil Co. and was a member of the Conroe Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Hood.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Peggy Hood of Conroe; son, Bryan Hood of Hallsville; daughter, Janice Davis and husband Mark of Montgomery; mother, Hazel Hood; brother, Don Hood and wife Lynda of Conway, AR; and grandchildren, Logan, Reagan and Addison.
Pallbearers will be Logan Davis, Terry Lapic, Bill Walker, Jon Walker, Darrell Stibbins and Derrick Bruton.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the 1963-64 HCJC Football Team.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 and friends are cordially invited to visit with James's family from 6 to 8 o'clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.
