Irvine's Story

Services for Irvine "Lynn" Sorrell will be held Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 2pm at Eubank Cedar Creek Memorial Chapel in Mabank, TX with Mr. Clint Sorrell and Mr. Mark Andrews officiating. Interment will follow the service at Payne Springs Cemetery. Lynn was born on July 17, 1937 in Henderson County to parents T.I. and Mary (Davis) Sorrell and entered into July 5, 2016 at the age of 78. Lynn was also known as "Jr" and "Rabbit". He went to Payne Springs Elementary and graduated from Malakoff High School. Lynn loved his family and his cattle. He enjoyed reading and watching sports. Lynn always stayed busy working. He worked as a pipe fitter for over 45 years with Local 211 out of Freeport, TX. Lynn was on the Payne Springs City Council, Payne Springs Cemetery Board and was a member of Masonic Lodge #727 Velasco. He was a Christian man, who was very loving and kind to all who knew him. Lynn will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved him.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his very, very dear friend Joy Campbell of Athens, sister Patricia Sorrell of Rockwall, brother Larry Sorrell of Athens, brother Rickie Sorrell and wife Barbara of Jacksonville and brother Dickie Sorrell of Hubbard, a host of nieces and nephews, other loving family members and many more great friends.
