Gloria's Story

Text size

Gloria Nell Fancher Dillard Tinney was called home to our Lord on Sunday, May 21, 2017. Gloria died in Hunstville, Texas, where she resided for the past 6 years.
She was born December 26, 1930, to William Bynum Fancher and Alice Lavitia Gandy of Henderson County.
Gloria was a Christian reservoir of advice, a strong-willed woman who proved that when we lose someone we love, when we think that feeling of emptiness will never go away, someone else often steps in or enters our life to fill the void and ease the pain. She had a great understanding of the workings of the world and how to handle anything that came her way. She loved God and tried to teach us about the Lord and to have godly principles and to do things God's way.
Her family had always been the most important part of her life. She lived to make our lives better and she was proud of us. She was a force. She was a pure and selfless soul.
Make no mistake the legacy of spirit that she has created in all of us will continue to live on. Maybe we can learn to lean on each other and rely on each other the way we always knew that we could with her. Maybe then she won't seem quite so far away.
Gloria was preceded in death by her daughter; Barbara Anne Dillard of Athens, and husband, Charley Morris Tinney of Athens TX.
She is survived by her daughters; Deborah Kaye Morrow of Forney and Carole Sue Greenawalt of Huntsville, Texas.
She is also survived by her Grandchildren; Shaine Snyder of Athens TX, Sonnie LaForce of Flowermound TX, Dawn Martin of Tyler TX, Ryan Greenawalt and Joy Lay of Nashville TN.
Greatgrandchildren; Averii Hammesfhar, Kenzie Martin, Quinton Morrow, Zane Hudman, Mattie Martin, and Cohen Snyder.
