Colton Lee Hughes, 25, of Eustace, Texas, passed away March 8, 2017 in Eustace.
Memorial service will be held at Old Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Canton, Texas on March 25, 2017 at 11:00 am.
Colton Hughes was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Kari Hughes and Mike Wilkerson on September 1, 1991. Colton lived with his grandmother in Oklahoma before they moved to Eustace, Texas when he was in 7th grade and she continued to raise him. In high school at Eustace, Colton played tuba in the marching band. He loved music, especially Johnny Cash and Loretta Lynn. Colton also played guitar and sang. His senior year he was elected Prom King. After graduating high school he attended TVCC in Athens, Texas.
Colton is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Floyd (Ta) and Elinor (Mimi) Guynn; grandparents, Jim and Joy Hughes; and his best friend, Kirby.
Colton is survived by his grandmother, Florene Hughes; mother and stepfather, Kari and Michael Woods; his father, Mike Wilkerson; his uncle, Lee Hughes; Uncle Ed and Aunt Sandra; Uncle Rodney and Mary Chryl; Aunt Donita; his best friend, Tommi; along with many loving cousins.
As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, it would be an honor to Colton that memorial donations may be made to the Old Bethel Missionary Baptist Church building fund at 446 VZ CR 2313, Canton, Texas 75103 - Attn: Colton Hughes Memorial.
