Tommy A. Taylor, 81, passed away peacefully Friday, May 5, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family. A life-long resident of Trinidad, he was born October 18, 1935 to Dan and Minnie Taylor. He worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for Machine Tool and Repair in Dallas for about 20 years. Tommy loved to care for his impeccable yard and anyone driving through Trinidad would often see him working outside. He leaves behind his loving wife of 37 years, Peggy Collins Taylor; brother Dan Aldon Taylor; son Henry Garcia and wife Rhonda; daughter Dana Work and husband Kevin; daughter Dawn Monroe and husband Todd; two sons Tom Jr. and Travis Taylor; two daughters Vicki Taylor Berry and Sherille Barton; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he adored.
Taylor is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Milton "Speedy" and Bill Taylor; sisters Dorothy White and Patricia Martin; and grandson, Mitchell Allen Garcia.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 2 pm at Trinidad United Methodist Church. Chaplain Mike Ferguson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice in Tyler by going to HeartToHeartHospice.com.
