Sharon Kay Wienenga Sharon Kay Wienenga passed away on February 24, 2019 in Athens, Texas She was born on August 5, 1943 in Kansas City, KS to John Aubrey and Irene Gertrude Kincaid.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Kincade; her mother and step-father, Irene and Winford Russell; her sister Linda Tremble; her grandson, Ashton Garner
Sharon began her early years in Kansas as well as Missouri. She enjoyed serving others. She worked as a hostess for the Denny's Corporation all over the United States including time in California and Las Vegas. Many years were spent in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. In approximately 1990 Sharon moved to East Texas to live with her sister Beverly Henry and Beverly's late husband Ronnie Henry. The two sisters made quite an entertaining duo. Some proof of their colorful relationship is by their caretakers at Caring Hearts naming them the "Golden Girls". Sharon loved Jesus and was extremely proud of her family. She enjoyed a good story, and good laugh, and especially a good hamburger!! She will be missed by many.
Survivors include her sister, Beverly Henry; her sons, Russell Garner and family and Bobby Russell; her daughter, Shaylynn Garner; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, along with Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Russell Garner, David Dickinson, Kris Johnston, Kase Johnston, Dawson Fortner and Dalton Fortner.
The family would like to say a very heart felt thank you to all those who have been taking care of Sharon and Beverly, especially, Temesha Lewis, Misty Salazar, Rachel Reynolds and Kay Williams, all of Caring Hearts Hospice, and Dana Foster of LaRue. These ladies have been an incredible blessing to our family, and we can never thank you enough.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the homegoing service for Sharon, Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 1:00 PM with service beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial to follow at Carroll-Springs Cemetery. Arrangements by Autry's Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.
