Sandra's Story

Sandra Holyfield of Athens was born September 28, 1944 to Harold and Helen Sorenson in Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Holyfield passed away October 25, 2016 in Athens, Texas. Sandra is preceded in death by both of her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Harold D. Holyfield; her children, Harold E. Holyfield and wife Karen, Robert Holyfield, Jason Holyfield and wife Erin, Michele Parolini, as well as Tammy Marquez and husband David; her sister, Linda Lea Bishop; her grandchildren, Ashley Parolini, Chris Parolini and wife Caroline, Kaitlyn, Kourtney, Madison, Meagan, Luke, Marcos, Heidi, Kaylee and Kaiden Holyfield, and Matthew and Trevor Marquez; her Great-Grandchildren, Brent and Anthony Piuedo, Adela and Isabella Alonso, Elizabeth Parolini, and Paris, Jake, and Parker Marquez; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Holyfield was a graduate of Irving High School and she completed Cosmetology school. Her entire life was centered around her children, grandchildren, and great - grandchildren. She loved to watch all of her children playing whatever sport they were involved in. She was their cheerleader and at every single event that she could attend. She also enjoyed working in her yard, and cooking for all her family. Sandra would do anything for her children and each one of them knew she was their biggest fan, not a day went by that she didn't want to help them or support them in any way she could.
A private Graveside service will be held at Athens City Columbarium on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 11:00A.M. under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home. In honor of her love for all of her children the family asks that Donations in memory of Sandra be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN  38105-3678.
