Rusten's Story

Text size

Rusten Roland Hallmark was born to Joan and Roland Hallmark at Saint Luke's Hospital, Houston Texas on October 27, 1956. After Roland completed his military service, the family moved to Dallas, Texas where Russ grew up and attended school in the bedroom community of Richardson. In 1973 the family moved to East Texas where he attended Brownsboro High School and graduated in 1975. He then went on to attend Trinity Valley Community College, Tyler Junior College, and ultimately The University of Texas at Austin where in 1983 he earned a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts. With encouragement from his professors he considered attending Yale, New Haven to pursue his graduate degree and subsequently teach. Regretfully this plan was abandoned when he accepted a management job with a Dallas based retailer.
