Pat Rudkin's Story
Mass of Christian Burial for Pat Rudkin, 77, Star Harbor, is scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Malakoff, with Father Morgan White officiant.
Burial will follow at Mary Queen of Heaven Cemetery under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens.
Mrs. Rudkin passed away June 4, 2017 in Tyler.
She was born October 22, 1939 in Sunman, Indiana to the late Fredrick William and Flora Christine Rodler Hake.
Pat was a resident of Star Harbor for many years, and a member of Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
She attended the University of Dayton in Dayton Ohio, and was a librarian at the University of Texas at Dallas for 20 years. She was an avid gardner and a wonderful cook. Her most cherished time was the time she spent with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; sons, James Robert Rudkin and Tommy Rudkin; brothers, Carey Hake, Robert Hake and John Hake; sisters, Audrey Watren and Mary Dunham.
Survivors include: her husband of 56 years, Rob Rudkin, Star Harbor; sons, Steve Rudkin and wife Sharon, Spicewood, Dan Rudkin and wife Kristi, Plano, Rick Rudkin and wife Sarah, Llano; daughter, Amanda Broadman and husband Matt, Hewett; seven grandchildren; brother, Jim Hake, Lewisburg, Ohio; sisters, Sylvia McCloud, Brunswick, Georgia and Chris Barga, St. Augustine, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Nick Rudkin, James Rudkin, Jake Rudkin, Kyle Rudkin, Dan Rudkin and Rick Rudkin.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 2269 CR 1703, Malakoff, TX 75148.
