Luther's Story

Luther Byron Price October 3rd 1940 - November 3rd, 2017 at 10:49 p.m. Beloved by many for his love of Jesus and his genuine reflection of that love in how he cared for those in need. His laughter was infectious and though he was 6'2" in stature, he was often said to be taller when he was on his knees in prayer. He sang in Southern Gospel Music Bands for many years including The Visionaries, The Swordsman and The Sons of Harmony. He was often compared to Perry Como in the smooth melodious manner in which he sang worship to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was an ordained minister in the Church of God and later transitioned his ministry in support of the Assemblies of God and the Full Gospel Ministries.
"Byron" was one of six children born to the late Luther B. and Versie Price and was joined in matrimony for more than 20 years to the late Edna Ruth Key and over 30 years to Linda Keith. He and his late brother Jesse Euin Price will forever be affectionately remembered by his brother David Michael Price and sisters Dixie Gayla Yvonne Utley Estes Christenson, Lola Vernelle McLaughlin Ainsworth and Martha Ann Childers. His Christian legacy will live on in the children of his late daughter Lawona Faith Minchew as well as daughters Norma Jeane Hanna, Ruth Andrea Hobin, Step-Daughter Misty Dawn Keith and sons Randall Lynn Price and Jesse Ray Price. He is greatly honored by his Children-in-law James Hobin, Karen B. Price, Davey L.. Hanna, and Kenneth W. Minchew. The memory of him is treasured by his grandchildren Tonya Lynn McClure, Randall Keith Pool, Adam Taylor Price, Emily Shea Price, Daniel Ray Mathis, Candace Faith McClintock, Richard Dale Lewis, Ashley Caleb Maes, Breanne Renae Cash, Sierra Rose Hanna, Amanda Nicole Reyes, and Aaron Wayne Minchew. His many Great-Grand Children will forever be taught of the powerful prayer life and faith of their great-grandfather. Hosts of dearly beloved nieces, nephews, and friends will sorely miss him but all who knew him know they will see him again very soon in eternity.
