Leslie Leona McLean passed away on June 20, 2016. She was born July 7, 1962 to Darwin and Nita Green of DeQueen Arkansas. She graduated from Arkadelphia High School and attended the University of Arkansas receiving a degree in History in 1987. She attended the University of Tennessee Law School receiving her law degree in 1990. While not born in Texas, she got here as quick as she could after college and practiced law in Tyler, TX for 26 years. She joined the Smith County District Attorney's Office in 2008 where she most recently served as Chief Misdemeanor Prosecutor. She attended the First United Methodist Church of Chandler and Brownsboro.
She is survived by her mother Nita Green, her loving husband of 20 years Dan McLean. Four sons, Adam McLean and wife April, Dustin McLean and wife Julie all of Brownsboro. Jeremy McLean and wife Sarah, Stephen Andrew "Drew" Pirtle, and Caitlin Shults all of Tyler. Also survived are six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father Darwin Green. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday June 23rd at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home in Athens. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Friday June 24th at First United Methodist Church in Chandler, with Dr. Stan Reid officiating. Burial to follow at Jennings Mountain Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
