Larry graduated Sunset High School in 1959 and went on to attend college at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he graduated with his bachelor's degree in 1963. During his life he was a computer programmer, insurance executive, Mayor of a Dallas Suburb called The Colony, owner of an insurance agency, and he retired in 2003 as a Math teacher and track coach from Trinidad ISD. One of his many loves was to announce football games; he always had a way of making them fun and unique. Larry was known for really caring about his students and helping them succeed not only academically but physically as well- he even took his track team to state one year.
Larry loved his telescopes and gardening, he enjoyed doing photography and even won a few awards for his photos. Larry loved his family but he especially loved his animals. His dog " Hammydog" was his backbone when recovering from a stroke, and his cat "Midnight" kept him living longer because he loved him so much. Larry felt so blessed to be a member of Athens Life Fellowship Church and was enjoying the unwavering support he was receiving from his Life Group. Larry was a blessing to so many and will be missed dearly.
