Services for Jerry Don West, 75, of Athens are scheduled for 11 am Friday February 3, 2017 at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, with Virgil Feinsod and Marvin Keown officiating under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton.
Jerry passed away on January 31, 2017 in Tyler.
He was born on May 25, 1941 in Ben Wheeler to Horace Elton and Bernice Austin West.
Jerry was a member of the Athens Masonic Lodge #165, where he served as past Worshipful Master. He was also a member of Dallas Scottish Rite, York Rite, and Sharon Shriners Clown Unit. He was a member of Athens Noon Kiwanis. Jerry served the county as Henderson County Commissioner of Precinct 4 for 16 years. Jerry and his wife, Evelyn, owned and operated Auto Industrial Supply Inc., East Tyler Exxon and was a U-Haul dealer. Jerry played basketball at Van High School and Lon Morris Junior College. He coached many years for Athens Little League Baseball.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Quaiana Dykes, Olive Jo Edwards, and Minnie McBroom; brother, Jack Elton West and great grandsons Slade and Sloan Reeves.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Evelyn West; son, Mitchell and Stacy West; son, Jeff and Peggy West; and son, Todd and Tonya West; grandchildren, Chase and Maryna West, Pearson West, Abigail West, Courtney and Ryan Reeves, Monica and Jamie Cook, Lauren West, and Lance West; great grandchildren, Griffin Cook, Logan Cook, Parker Cook, Saxon Reeves, and Sutton Reeves; and brother, Charles and Juanita West..
Pallbearers for the service will be Chase West, Pearson West, Logan Cook, Parker Cook, Lance West, and Saxon Reeves.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services .
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Athens Masonic Lodge #165 or the charity of your choice.
