A memorial service for Fritzi Rizer, formerly of Athens, is scheduled for Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, 1910 East Tyler Street, Athens, Texas 75751.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Athens for many years. Fritzi loved her church where she served as an Elder and loved her family dearly.
Fritzi graduated from Fishersville High School in Virginia and attended Tarrant County Jr. College in Fort Worth, Texas. She belonged to the Henderson County Literary Club, was an active member of the Lone Star Republican Women where she served on many committees. She also served as President of the American Cancer Society, Athens.
She was preceded in death by parents Alvin and Pearl Weaver, sister Mabel Davis, brother Homer Weaver, husbands Owen Fontaine McCauley, William Richard Allen, Virgil Hugh Rizer, daughters Suzanne McCauley and Sharon McCauley Jones. She is survived by her son Gary McCauley and wife Beckie, grandchildren Bill Swift and wife Amy, Susanne Swift, Shannon Williamson and Brian McCauley as well as other extended family - The Rizers, The Gardners, The Mullins, and The Allens.
Fritzi would want everyone to know that her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the only way she made it through her 93 years on this earth. Her love and dedication to Him was evident to anyone she met along the way, she never missed any opportunity to share that faith with others.
