Mr. Charles Taylor, Jr., age 95 of Athens, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at ETMC of Athens. Charles was born in Winnsboro, Texas on November 23, 1920 to the Late Horace Charles Taylor, Sr. and Mattie Stanley Taylor. He served honorably in the Army Air-Corp as a B-29 Pilot flying more than thirty combat and air-sea rescue missions in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Charles returned to civilian life and became a pharmacist, he owned and operated Taylor Prescription Pharmacy in Athens until retirement, he was also a member of First Baptist Church in Athens. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Jamie White Taylor in 2010, and two sisters. He is survived by his son, C.L. Taylor and wife Edith of Athens. The family wishes to thank Charles caregivers at Oakwood Place Assisted Living and Genesis Extra Care for the love and care given. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Lee Cemetery on Highway 37 in Winnsboro, Texas, Dr. David Rose officiating.
