Carole's Story

Carole Elaine Limerick, age 69, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at her residence in Star Harbor with her loving family by her side. She was born on April 4, 1948 in Laurel, Mississippi to Iva and Webster Read.
Carole's formal education included earning diplomas from Jones County Junior College in Ellsville, MS. and Jackson Commercial College in Jackson, MS.
Carole and her family moved to Corsicana, TX in 1978. She worked with the hearing impaired students at Sam Houston School. Carole never left a kid behind. She worked for more than twenty years at Ray's Transport as an outstanding transportation manager. As long as Carole's children were in elementary school she worked part time. Her commitment was to her faith, her family and friends. She was a great domestic engineer, seamstress, artist (both in oils and water colors).
She was a resident of Star Harbor for the past twelve years. She was a twenty-six year veteran of Multiple Sclerosis and her "special needs" placed her homebound, but she was surrounded by wonderful friends and neighbors. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Malakoff and had a special association with the Joy class.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Patsy Browning.
She is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, Curtis Van Limerick, her daughter, Michelle Diane McClain and husband Rodney of Tool, Texas; her son, Christopher Read Limerick of Gun Barrel City, Texas; her granddaughters Ashley and Katelynn McClain; her brother-in-law, Tom Browning; numerous cousins, two grand dogs and a hamster named Mr. Pickles.
Visitation with the family will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Malakoff. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 1, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Malakoff with Pastor Jody Jones and Chaplain Steven Burnett officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Shannon Heaton, Brandon Johnson, Max Merkley, Steven Deal, Tre Hollingsworth, Stoney Carpenter and Jim Gilfillan. Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Hayes and Rodney McClain. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Athens, Texas.
Memorials may be made to The Regional Day School Program for the Deaf at 2200 W. Fourth Avenue, Corsicana, Texas 75110. The family thanks with their deepest appreciation the caregivers that Carole had; Betty Phillips and the staff of Asana Hospice.
