Funeral services for Belvia Holden 78, Athens have been scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday September 17, 2016 at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Erick Graham officiating.
Burial will follow at Ash cemetery.
Mrs. Holden passed away Tuesday evening in Athens.
She was born April 28, 1938 in Vernon, Texas to the late Cisero and Mattie Jo Howell Cullen. She was an active member of Sand Springs Baptist Church and had been a resident of Athens for the past 16 years. She was a waitress all of her life working at Don's Seafood in Lafayette, La for 25 years. After moving to Athens she continued her career at Athens Marina for 14 years before she retired. She truly loved taking care of people. She loved to bake and was well known for her cakes and cookies. She loved to be outdoors gardening and her yard always showed it with all the pretty flowers she grew. She enjoyed music and reading and she especially loved reading her bible. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luke Holden, sister; Vynomma Pechacek, brothers; Bluford Robertson and Ray Robertson.
Survivors include sons; Billy Lee and wife Eva, Athens, David Lee and wife Azelia, Longview, daughters; Sheila Walker and husband Robert, Athens, Sherry Schneider and husband Dayrell, Haymarket, Virginia, Sharon Kendall and husband Rowland, Athens, grandchildren; Bobby Walker, Oklahoma, Cody Walker, China, Miles Lee, Austin, Leslie Simmons, Arlington, April Klassen, Remington, Virginia, Angela Osborne, Georgetown, Ohio, Stacey Schneider, Marshall, Virginia, great grandchildren; Lane Walker, Ellie Copeland, Hadllee Walker, Ethan Walker, Jacob Klassen, Taylor hardy, Abby Schneider, Cooper Osborne, Caty Case, Emily Bradford and Ender Simmons, brother; Don Robertson, Arizona, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be special nephew, Ronny Robertson, special nephew, Phil Pechacek, Robert Walker, Dayrell Schneider, David Lee and Miles Lee.
Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Mason, Roddy Waites, and Bill Forgey.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday evening 5:30 -7:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
