Armando's Story

Mr. Armando (Mando) Salazar 73, of Eustace passed away October 30, 2016 at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.
Armando was born on July 8, 1943 in El Paso, Texas. He attended Bowie High School and spent most of his career in the auto transport industry, working for Auto Convoy, Hadley and other companies over the years. He retired from Taco Bueno, where he had worked as a top performing store manager. He was a devoted and loving husband and father, and instilled in his children a love of life and family and the values of honesty, integrity and a strong work ethic.
He was preceded in death by his parents Federico Sr. and Rosa (Moreno) Salazar, and siblings Hortencia Reyes, Roberto Salazar, Federico Salazar Jr., and Hector Salazar Sr.
Mando is survived by his wife , Joyce Lee (Boyd) Salazar, Michelle Martinez (Ivan), Lori De Leon (Jose), and Jacky Salazar; grandchildren Adam Salazar (Jessica), Christopher Jacob Martinez, Analicia Martinez, Lauren Martinez, Noelle Salazar and Aleksei Quintero; great grand-daughter, Avery Salazar; and siblings Ofelia Duran (Paul), Willie Salazar (Alma), Consuelo Chavez (Norman), Ruth Lopez (Daniel), Eva Scott, Sam Salazar (Elisa), and Freddy Salazar, (Nena); and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, Texas, Kindred at Home, and the Henderson County Dialysis Center for their care and dedication in caring for our father/husband. His daughters would also like to express deep appreciation to the family of Joyce, our step-mother, especially her daughter and our step-sister, Julie Gandy, for all her love and support. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
