Graveside services for Anetha Lanier,83 Athens have been scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday at Athens Cemetery with Rev. William "Shane" Barnes officiating under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, Athens.
Mrs. Lanier passed away Monday morning in Athens.
She was born September 14, 1932 in Cameron, Texas to the late Wilmore and Ruth Hays Crawford. She was a resident of Athens for 50 years and was a member of Brownsboro Assembly of God Church. She loved cooking and collecting recipes when she wasn't watching T.V. She loved tending to her farm animals and caring for her loving dog "Sugie". Her greatest joy though was spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jodia Lanier in 2011, son; Douglas Ray Lanier, grandson; Nathan Cobb, sister; Mary Ruth Fuller and brother, Billy Joe Crawford.
Survivors include her son; Mike Lanier, Athens, daughter; Connie Cook and husband Mark, Athens, grandsons; Clifton Cobb and wife Nora, Alvarado, Michael Lanier and wife Amanda, Coppell, Craig Cobb, Athens, granddaughters; Haley Smith and husband Jeremy, Murchison, Jennifer Hovda and husband Micah, College Station, numerous great grandchildren, brother; Charles Crawford and wife Sandra, Whitehouse, sister; Marilyn Crawford, Alvin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
